God’s word will cause effect in your life – Hebrews 3:6-13, Hebrews 4:8-12
6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years
.10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways
.11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil (full of labors and pains of working mischief) heart of unbelief, in departing (falling away) from the living God.
13 But exhort (to call near, every kind of speaking to which is mean to produce a particular effect; exhortation, comfort, encouragement) one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened (to make dry hard, stiff) through the deceitfulness (self deception, deceit; especially by false statements) of sin.
Hebrews 4:8-12
9 There remaineth therefore a rest (rest day) to the people of God
.10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased (rested) from his own works, as God did from his (own)
.11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after (resting within) the same example of unbelief.
12 For (For in fact also) the word (spoken word) of God is quick (living), and powerful (strength and effectual in operation), and sharper (more cutting) than (above) any twoedged sword, piercing (passing through) even to the dividing asunder (the act of dividing) of soul and spirit (differentiating between that which is begotten of the flesh and that which is begotten of the spirit in the individual. In addition, it differentiates between the natural and spiritual), and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner (skilled in judging) of the thoughts (secret motives and emotional revolving of the mind) and intents (what is in the mind, idea) of the heart (the seat of one’s distinctive character)
13 Neither is there any creature (created thing) that is not manifest (made visible) in his sight (before his eyes): but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do (is our account).
