1545. God’s word causes effect
God’s word causes effect – 2 Timothy 2:11-16, Romans 10:9-10, 2 Timothy 3:14-17
2 Timothy 2:11-16
11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
12 If we suffer (endure), we shall also reign (reign tother also) with him: if we deny (to say no, refuse, decline) him, he also will deny us:
13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive (contend with words) not about words to no profit, but to the subverting (overthrow, destruction) of the hearers.
15 Study (be diligent) to shew (present) thyself approved (examined, tested) unto God, a workman (laborer) that needeth not to be ashamed (without cause for shame), rightly dividing (to cut straight, perfectly) the word of truth.
16 But shun profane and vain babblings (sounds containing nothing): for they will increase unto more ungodliness (absence of the fear of God).
Romans 10:9-10
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
2 Timothy 3:14-17
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 And that from (motion away) a child (newly formed baby) thou hast known the holy scriptures (book of study), which are able to make thee wise (skillful, expert) unto (motion to) salvation (safety, preservation) through (proceeding from) faith (believing what you hear, firm persuasion based upon hearing) which is in (resting within) Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture (book of authority) is given by inspiration of God (God breathed), and is profitable (helpful, aiding, useful) for doctrine (teaching, especially the substance or result of teaching), for reproof (proof, or conviction, convincing argument), for correction (to set right again), for instruction (the training of a child) in (resting within) righteousness:
17 That (in order that) the man of God may be perfect (perfectly fitted), thoroughly furnished (equipped) unto all good works (every work).
