Godly grief works in you a change in moral position

2 Corinthians 7:9-11

9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry (grief), but that ye sorrowed (grieved) to repentance (a real change of mind from sin itself; change of moral thought : from sin nature to spiritual nature; alway for the better): for ye were made sorry (grieved) after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage (suffer loss) by us in nothing.

10 For godly sorrow (grief) worketh (to work out) repentance (a real change of mind from sin itself; change of moral thought : from sin nature to spiritual nature; alway for the better) to salvation not to be repented (regretted) of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

11 For behold this selfsame (very) thing, that ye sorrowed (grieved) after a godly sort, what carefulness (diligence: steady application in business of any kind) it wrought (worked) in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.
