627. Abide or dwell in the love of Christ
Abide or dwell in the love of Christ – John 15:1-4, Ephesians 3:17, John 15:5-12
15 I am the true (real) vine, and my Father is the husbandman (a farmer, a cultivator).
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh (raiseth) away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth (cleanseth) it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3 Now (already) ye are clean (without blemish) through (on account of) the word (logos) which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide (remain, dwell) in me,
and I in you (I also (remain) in you). As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except (if not) it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide (remain, dwell) in me.
17 That Christ (the Christ) may dwell (to settle down in a fixed dwelling, the place) in your hearts by (through) faith; that (in order that) ye, being rooted (to take root) and grounded (founded) in love,
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth (remain, dwell) in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide (remain, dwell) not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and
men (they) gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If ye abide (remain, dwell) in me, and my words abide in you,
ye shall ask what ye will (wish or desire) and it shall be done (come to pass) unto you.
erein (in this) is my Father glorified, (in order) that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my (and that ye may become my) disciples.
9 (Even as) As the Father
hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue (abide) ye in my love.
10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide (dwell, remain) in his love (to regard with favor).
11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy (the joy that is mine) might remain (be) in you, and that your joy might be full (fulfilled).
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
