Look for his return – James 5:7-11, 2 Corinthians 4:14-18
James 5:7-11
7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
2 Corinthians 4:14-18
14 Knowing that he which raised (rouse from sleep) up the Lord Jesus shall raise (rouse from sleep) up us also by (with Christ) Jesus, and shall present us with you.
15 For all things are for your sakes (on account of you), that the abundant (abounding) grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound (overflow, excel) to the glory of God.
16 For which cause (Therefore) we faint (to lose one’s courage, to turn out a coward) not; but though (even if) our outward (old nature) man perish (is corrupted or destroyed), yet the inward (from within) man is renewed (daily acquire new strength) day by day.
17 For our light affliction (momentary lightness of our affliction), which is but for a moment, worketh (to work out) for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal (for a season); but the things which are not seen are eternal.
