1482. Trust in God
Trust in God – Psalms 62:5-8, Psalms 37:1-7
Psalms 62:5-8
5 My soul, wait (wait in silence) thou only upon God; for my expectation (the state of expecting) is from him.
6 He only (truly) is my rock (symbol for firmness) and my salvation: he is my defence (high tower); I shall not be moved.
7 In (upon) God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge (shelter from danger), is in God.
8 Trust (confide) in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Psalms 37:1-7
37 Fret (heart not thyself with vexation) not thyself because of evildoers (breaking up that which is good), neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity (transgression).
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust (confide, entreat, rely) in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight (be soft, pliable) thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires (petitions) of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest (be silent, stand still) in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
