1540. Have reverence towards God
Have reverence towards God – Psalms 147:4-11, 2 Peter 1:2, Proverbs 1:7, Proverbs 2:1-5
Psalms 147:4-11
4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
6 The Lord lifteth up the meek (humble ones): he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
7 Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
9 He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy (lovingkindness).
2 Peter 1:2
2 Grace (God’s loving disposition) and peace (the undisturbed state of well being) be multiplied (make you full) unto you through (through the instrument) the knowledge (a true and personal relationship with an object where you hear from the object and heed its advice) of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
Proverbs 1:7
7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 2:1-5
2 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.
