6-3-Add-to-your-faith-these-things-01

Add to your faith these things

Add to your faith these thing

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious (of equal honor and estimation) faith (believing) with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

Grace (God’s loving disposition) and peace (the state of undisturbed well being) be multiplied (make you full) unto you through (through the instrument of) the knowledge (a true and personal relationship and heed the advice) of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

According as his divine (godly) power (inherent power: power of reproducing itself) hath (are) given unto us all (as to) things that pertain unto (for) life and godliness, through (with the purpose of) the knowledge (epignosis: true and personal relationship and heed the advice) of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be (become) partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust (sinful nature).

Add to your faith these things:

And beside this, giving all diligence (speed or haste), add to your faith (believing) virtue (moral excellence); and to (resting within) virtue knowledge (gnosko: experiential learning);

And to (resting within) knowledge (experiential learning) temperance (self control); and to (resting within) temperance (self control) patience; and to (resting within) patience godliness (eusebeia: relates to real, true, vital and spiritual relation with God);

And to (resting within) godliness (eusebeia: relates to real, true, vital and spiritual relation with God) brotherly kindness (love for the brethren); and to (resting within) brotherly kindness charity (agape: the highest form of love).

For if these things be (these things existing) in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither (not) be barren (useless) nor unfruitful in (motion towards) the knowledge (a true and personal relationship and heed the advice) of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Add to your faith these things
