Be anxious for nothing: Think on praising God

Think on praising God

Philippians 4:7-8

Be careful (anxious)l for nothing (not one thing); but in every thing (all things) by prayer (prayers to God) and supplication (specific prayers of need) with thanksgiving let your requests (specific requests) be made known unto God.

And the peace (state of wellbeing) of God, which passeth (surpassing) all understanding, shall keep (garrison or fortify) your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are TRUE (God’s word is true, the spirit of truth) , whatsoever things are HONEST (dignified: not be doubletounged: telling a different story, slanderer: accuser of other’s, sober, not greedy) , whatsoever things are JUST (righteous: the just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17)), whatsoever things are PURE (wisdom from above, what God tells you and the expectation of future good or hope of Jesus Christ’s return), whatsoever things are LOVELY (dear to you and in God’s eyes, providing pasture being a Sheppard for his sheep, lovingly guiding them), whatsoever things are of GOOD REPORT (telling of good: believing on the name of Jesus Christ, abstaining from idolatry, honoring your parents); if there be any VIRTUE (moral excellence, bravery, valor, strength), and if there be any PRAISE, think on these things.

PRAISE: narration or discourse upon God

Ephesians 1:5-6

Having predestinated (forordained) us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

To the praise of the glory of his grace (inclining disposition), wherein (which) he hath made us accepted (en-graced) in the beloved.

Ephesians 1:11-14

11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated (foreordained) according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

12 (To the end) That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed (closed like a siglnlet) with that holy Spirit of promise,

14 Which is the earnest (pledge) of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Philippians 1:10-11

10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.

11 Being filled (having been filled) with the fruits of righteousness, which are by (dividing through) Jesus Christ, unto (motion towards) the glory and praise of God.

1 Peter 1:6-7

Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

(in order) That the trial of your faith, being much more precious (your tested faith) than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Think on praising God
