Ephesians 1:1-8

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in (resting within) Christ Jesus:

² Grace (loving disposition) be to you, and peace (undisturbed state of well being), from God our Father, and from (origin or source) the Lord Jesus Christ.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all (every) spiritual blessings in (resting within) heavenly (the heavenlies) places in Christ:

⁴ According as he hath chosen us in (resting within) him (God) before the foundation of the world (disruption or ruin of the world), that we should be holy and without blame (blemish of sin) before (in his sight) him in love:

⁵ Having predestinated (foreordained: the question is not “who” are it’s objects but what they are supposed to do) us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according (even) to the good pleasure of his will,

⁶ To the praise of the glory of his grace (inclining disposition), wherein (which) he hath made us accepted (engraved) in the beloved (Jesus Christ).

⁷ In whom we have redemption (the deliverance of the soul from sin, body, the grave) through (the dividing line) his blood, the forgiveness (remission of debt, setting free) of sins, according (even) to the riches of his grace;

⁸ Wherein he hath abounded (to be over and above, more than enough) toward us in all wisdom and prudence (intentions, management of affairs);
