Forgive one another
Forgive one another – Colossians 3:10-13; Luke 17:3-4
Colossians 3:10-13
10 And have put on (like a tee shirt) the new man (new spiritual nature), which is renewed (daily acquiring strength) in (motion towards) knowledge (epignosis: a true and personal relationship with the object and heeding it’s advice) after (in parallel motion) the image (pattern) of him that created him:
11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
12 Put on (like a tee shirt) therefore, as the elect (chosen) of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies (subjective compassion: felt on witnessing his misfortune), kindness (sweetness of disposition, in-spite of ingratitude), humbleness (modesty) of mind, meekness (enduring all things with an even temper), longsuffering;
13 Forbearing (to hold up) one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Luke 17:3-4
3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass (sin) against thee, rebuke (to put further honor upon, to estimate the value or penalty) him; and if he repent (to change one’s mind, recover one’s senses), forgive him.
4 And if he trespass (sin) against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
