Hebrews 11
Hebrews 11:1; 11:17-19; Proverbs 15:1-2
Hebrews 11:1
1 Now faith (them that believe) s the substance (that which lies at the foundation of a matter, the foundation) of things hoped (a confidence) for, the evidence (the proof) of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:17-19
17 By faith (believing specifically what you hear) Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
19 Accounting (reckoning) that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure (did even in a figure receive him back).
Proverbs 15:1-2
15 A soft (tender) answer turneth away wrath: but grievous (bitter, cutting, violent) words stir up (cause to burn, ascend up) anger.
2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge (cunning, awareness) aright ( to cause to make cheerful, better)…
