1 John 3:1-5
3 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon (given to) us, (in order) that we should be called the sons (decendants, children) of God: therefore the world (kosmos: the arrangement) knoweth (gnosko: experiential learning) us not, because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear (to shine forth as to be seen) what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see (with the eyes and look away from others to regard) him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth (to make clean: pure, chaste, clean, not contaminated by anything) himself, even as he is pure.
4 Whosoever (everyone who) committeth (to practice) sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5 And ye know that he was manifested (appear) to (in order that) take away our sins; and in (resting within) him is no sin.
You are righteous and cannot sin
