WE HAVE BEEN CALLED UNTO LIBERTY
Ga 5:13 “For brethren, ye have been called unto liberty (freedom to go where one will); only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve (a servant, slave, both to be subject and in subjection) one another”
Ga 5:14 “For all the law is fulfilled in one word even in this: “though shalt love thy neighbor as thyself”
Because of what Jesus Christ did for us, we are no longer in subjection or in service to the 10 commandments. You will not and are not judged by these commandments in order to be considered righteous (right before God). The 10 commandments will not get you to heaven it’s believing in Jesus Christ…
Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:10 “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
If you believe Jesus Christ was raised from the dead and that he is your Lord and savior, you’re set free from the law. That’s why we are called to “Liberty”.
Ga 5:13 “For brethren ye have been called (or summoned) unto or to the end point of liberty… (the freedom to go where one will.)
You are summoned to live free, no in condemnation: not worried, not in anxiety… you can freely do whatever you want.
… only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh…
We are natural creatures… the urges of our manly nature is contrary to how we are to be with God… You are set free to do what you willl only don’t use this freedom to do what is contrary to what God wants you to do, the way he wants you to act… because you can, based on the freedom that is in Christ. Use this freedom to serve one another.. because the only commandment that’s given is to 1 Jo 3:23 “believe on the name of his son Jesus Christ and LOVE one another.”
If you want to treat people the way God wants you to treat them, be in service to them. Help them when they need help.. build them up. Love them like you love yourself:
