Be built up through believing – Colossians 2:1-10, Colossians 3:12-15
Colossians 2:1-10
For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
That (in order that) their hearts might be comforted (to call aside, appeal to), being knit (to join) together in love, and unto all riches (abounding riches) of the full assurance (the trust and conviction) of understanding (reflective insight or thoughts), to the acknowledgement (acquainted with knowledge) of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of (even) Christ;
In whom (Christ) are hid all the treasures of wisdom (the right application of knowledge) and knowledge (knowledge acquired by learning).
And this I say, lest any man should beguile (deceive) you with enticing words (persuasive discourse).
For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him (Jesus Christ):
Rooted (to take root) and built up (built upon) in (resting within) him (JC), and stablished (to confirm, ratified) in (by) the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding (more than enough) therein with thanksgiving.
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
For in him (JC) dwelleth (fixed dwelling) all the fulness of the Godhead (divine) bodily (body).
And ye are complete (fully furnished) in him (JC), which (who) is the head of all principality (rulership) and power (authority, liberty and right to put forth power):
Colossians 3:12-15
Put on (like a tee shirt) therefore, as the elect (chosen) of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies (subjective compassion), kindness (sweetness of disposition input of ingratitude), humbleness (modesty) of mind, meekness (enduring all things with an even temper), longsuffering;
Forbearing (to hold up) one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel (complaint, occasion to blame) against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
And above all these things put on charity (love), which is the bond (that which binds together, a bundle) of perfectness (completeness that which has reached its full and intended end).
And let the peace of God (the messiah) rule (be umpire) in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful (become thankful, grateful , pleasing).
