Stand firm in the liberty that God gave you and Jesus Christ died for – Colossians 2:6-16

Colossians 2:6-16

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him (Jesus Christ):

Rooted (to take root) and built up (built upon) in (resting within) him (JC), and stablished (to confirm, ratified) in (by) the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding (more than enough) therein with thanksgiving.

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

For in him (JC) dwelleth (fixed dwelling) all the fulness of the Godhead (divine) bodily (body).

10 And ye are complete (fully furnished) in him (JC), which (who) is the head of all principality (rulership) and power (authority, liberty and right to put forth power):

11 In whom also ye are (were) circumcised (also) with the circumcision made without hands, in putting (stepping) off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

12 Buried (a corpse, religious purification) with him in baptism (washing from sin), wherein (in whom) also ye are risen (rouse up, in conjunction with) with him through the faith of the operation (being in active power) of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

13 And you, being dead (at that time, the state) in (remaining within) your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened (made alive) together with him, having (graciously) forgiven you all trespasses (sins);

14 Blotting out (to anoint, smear completely, plaster over, to white out) the handwriting (something written by hand) of ordinances (philosophic dogma) that was against us, which was contrary (opposed) to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his (the) cross;

15 And having spoiled (put off) principalities (rulers) and powers (authority), he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
