Be renewed or change your course of life to love – Ephesians 4:21-32

Ephesians 4:21-32

 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught (were instructed) by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

 That ye put off (put away) concerning (with the ultimate purpose) the former (before) conversation (manner of life) the old man (Adam nature), which is corrupt (being corrupted) according to the deceitful lusts (sinful desires);

 And be renewed (implies that the whole course of life now flows in a different direction) in the spirit (your spirit, desires, action) of your mind (reflective conscious);

 And that ye put on the new man (new nature), (that) which after (along the same motion) God is (was) created in (remaining within) righteousness and (of the) true (truth) holiness (godliness).

 Wherefore putting (having put) away lying (the lie), speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

 Be ye angry (righteous indignation), and sin not (morally come short): let not the sun go down upon your wrath (the working into a passion):

 Neither give place to the devil.

 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

 Let no corrupt communication (putrid spoken word) proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying (the act of building a house), that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

 And grieve (afflict with sorrow) not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed (letter closed as sealed) unto the day of redemption.

 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour (uproar), and evil speaking (railing), be put away from you, with all malice:

 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted (tenderly), forgiving (compassionate) one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
