Become new – 1 Corinthians 5:6-8; Ecclesiastes 10:1
Corinthians 5:6-8
Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven (leaven causes to ferment and turn sour) leaveneth the whole lump (kneaded mass)?
Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is (was) sacrificed for us:
Therefore let us keep the feast (our passover is passed we are living in the days of being unleavened), not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Dead flies cause (are that which will cause) the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking (to stink and ferment) savour: so doth a little folly (foolishness, stupidity) him that is in reputation for wisdom and honour.
