Walk in the armor of God
Walk in the armor of God – 1 Thessalonians 5:4-9, 1 Thessalonians 5:18
1 Thessalonians 5:4-9, 1 Thessalonians 5:18
4 But ye, brethren, are not in (remaining within) darkness (the absence of light), that (in order that) that day should overtake (lay hold of, to seize suddenly) you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children (with origin to) of light (absolute light and underived), and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep (to compose oneself for sleep), as do others; but let us watch (keep awake) and be sober (sober minded, circumspect, temperate).
7 For they that sleep sleep (to compose oneself for sleep) in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober (to compose oneself for sleep), putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
For (But) God hath not appointed (appointed not) us to wrath, but to obtain (motion to the obtaining) salvation (safety and preservation) by (through) our Lord Jesus Christ,
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
