Proverbs 10:1-6

Proverbs 10:1-6

Proverbs: to rule. Words which are to rule and govern the life. Not a collection of human wisdom, but of divine rules from heaven for earth.

Proverbs 10:1-6

10 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise (cunning) son maketh a glad father: but a foolish (stupid, silly) son is the heaviness of his mother.

Treasures (a depository: cellar, armory, store-house) of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death (the place or state; fig. pestilence).

The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish (to hunger): but he casteth away (repels) the substance of the wicked.

He becometh poor (to be destitute, lack, needy) that dealeth with a slack (deceitful) hand: but the hand of the diligent (gold (as mined), trench (as dug)) maketh rich (to grow rich, accumulate).

Blessings (not simply good things but good things bestowed by another) are upon the head of the just (upright): but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

Proverbs 10:1-6
