Proverbs 22:1-10

Proverbs 22:1-10

Proverbs: words which are to rule and govern life. Not a collection of human wisdom but divine rules from heaven to earth

Proverbs 22:1

22 A GOOD NAME is rather to be chosen than great riches, and LOVING FAVOR rather than silver and gold.

The rich and poor meet together: the Lord is the maker of them all.

A prudent (cunning and crafty) man foreseeth the evil, and hideth (to hide by covering be absent, conceal) himself: but the simple (artless, unsuspecting) pass on, and are punished (suffer for it, pays the penalty).

By humility (the reward of humility that is the fear of Jehovah) and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life.

Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.

Mathew 13:22

22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward (perverse): he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.

Train up a child in the way he should go (to hedge in, like cattle, a narrow path): and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.

He that soweth (seeders) iniquity (trickery) shall reap vanity (to exert oneself, usually in vain; to come to nought): and the rod of his anger shall fail.

He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.

10 Cast out the scorner (devicive, scornful, mocking), and CONTENTION shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease.

Proverbs 17:14

14 The beginning of strife (the big argument) is as when one letteth out water (breaching of a damn): therefore leave off contention (the small arguments), before it be meddled with (gatherers volume).
