Proverbs 15:1-8
15 A soft (tender) answer turneth away wrath: but grievous (bitter, cutting, violent) words stir up (cause to burn, ascend up) anger.
2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge (cunning, awares) aright (to cause to make well, make cheerful, better): but the mouth of fools (stupid, silly) poureth out foolishness (careless habit of mind and body).
3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil (the evil ones) and the good (the good ones).
4 A wholesome tongue (soft tongue) is a tree(from its firmness) of life: but perverseness (disposition to cross or vex) therein is a breach in the spirit (the invisible characteristics of man).
5 A fool (careless habit of mind and body) despiseth his father’s instruction: but he that regardeth (to hedge out, to guard, protect) reproof (correction) is prudent.
6 In the house of the righteous (just, lawful) is much treasure (strength, wealth, riches): but in the revenues (gain, increase, fruit) of the wicked (morally wrong, ungodly, guilty) is trouble (to roil water, to disturb, afflict, trouble, to stir).
7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
