Set your affection or mind in the heavenliness – Colossians 3:1-4, Colossians 3:9-10
Colossians 3:1-4
3 If ye then be risen (were raised with) with Christ (the messiah), seek (endeavor to find) those things which are above (heavenly things), where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection (mind) on things above, not on things on the earth (land as distinct from water).
3 For ye are dead (died), and your life is (has been) hid (laid up in store) with (in conjunction with) Christ in (resting within) God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory (brightness, that thing that attracts attention, commands recognition).
Colossians 3:9-10
9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man (old nature) with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed (newly made, daily acquire new strength) in (motion toward) knowledge (epignosis: a true and personal relationship with the object where you heed advice) after (in parallel motion with) the image (pattern) of him that created him:
