13 But now in (resting within) Christ Jesus ye who sometimes (once) were far off are (were) made nigh (near, close) by (resting within) the blood of Christ.
14 For he is our peace (undisturbed state of well-being), who hath (having) made both (Jews and Gentiles) one, and hath broken down (destroyed) the middle wall of (the) partition between us;
15 Having abolished (done away with) in his flesh the enmity (hatred, enemy), even the law of commandments (death) contained in ordinances (dogmatic principles); for to make in himself (in order that he might create) of twain (the two: Jews and Gentiles) one new man, so making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile (bring together again) both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18 For through (the dividing line) him we both (Jews and Gentiles) have (the) access by (resting within) one (holy) spirit unto the Father.
