The contrast between the righteous and the lawless

The contrast between the righteous and the lawless – Proverbs 12:7-14

The wicked are overthrown, and are not (there is nothing left of them): but the house of the righteous shall stand (arise, continue, endure, establish).

A man (ish: a great man, godly man) be commended (shine, boast) according to his wisdom (intelligence, prudence, success): but he that is of a perverse (make crooked, bow down) heart shall be despised (shamed, disrespect).

He that is despised (shamed), and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth (weighty, heavy) himself, and lacketh (wanting, needing) bread.

10 A righteous man regardeth (to know properly) the life (soul) of his beast: but the tender mercies (compassion) of the wicked (lawless ones) are cruel (terrible).

11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied (filled to satisfaction) with bread: but he that followeth (runneth after) vain (empty worthless) persons is void of understanding (heart, I believe this is understanding what is good and evil).

12 The wicked (lawless one’s) desireth the net (figurative for what is caught in it) of evil men (which evil men use): but the root of the righteous yieldeth (giveth to others as opposed to taking) fruit.

14 A man (ish: a great man, godly man) shall be satisfied (fill to satisfaction) with good by the fruit (what is produced) of his mouth: and the recompence of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him.
