The specific words of faith – John 12:44-50; Romans 10:1-10
John 12:44-50
44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.
46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
47 And if any man hear my words (sayings), and believe not, I judge (to divide, separate; not merely a sentence of condemnation but a decision in one’s favor) him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world (kosmos).
48 He that rejecteth (to count as nothing) me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
50 And I know that his commandment (the result of His commandment) is life everlasting (eternal): whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
Romans 10:1-10
10 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel (them) is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal (to boil, seethe, vehement passion) of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about (seeking) to establish (cause to stand) their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ (the messiah) is the end (fulfillment or completion) of the law for (motion to) righteousness to every one that believeth (to have faith).
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by (resting within) them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
