The truth will pacify your heart

2 Thessalonians 2:13-17

¹³ But we are bound (under obligation) to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen (chose) you to salvation (safety) through (resting within) sanctification (to set in a state corresponding to God’s nature) of the Spirit (holy spirit) and belief (believing what you hear) of the truth:

¹⁴ Whereunto (unto which) he called (summon, to call the name) you by our gospel, to the obtaining (acquiring) of the glory (splendor, brilliance) of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁵ Therefore, brethren, stand fast (firm), and hold (lay hold on) the traditions (the act of delivery, ie.. the mystery) which ye have been taught, whether by word (spoken word), or our epistle (letter).

¹⁶ Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation (calling or summons) and good hope (expectation of future good, ie.. the return) through (resting within) grace (free undeserved favor),

¹⁷ Comfort (to speak to, pacify) your hearts, and stablish (set fast, establish) you in (resting within) every good word (the spoken word) and work (that which is acquired by labor).
