2 Timothy 2:24-26

²⁴ And the servant (bondmaid) of the Lord must not strive (fight); but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,

²⁵ In meekness instructing those that oppose (to be adverse to, to be over and against) themselves; if God peradventure (lest at any time God) will (should) give them repentance (a change of mind from sin itself, a change in moral thought, sin/carnal nature vs spiritual nature) to (motion to) the acknowledging (acquainted with knowledge) of the truth;

²⁶ And that they may recover themselves (become sober again) out of the snare (a noose or slip knot for hanging or strangling, later the mesh of a net) of the devil, who are taken captive (to takee prisoner instead of killing) by (from under the power of) him at (unto) his will (God’s willing).
