Walk with confidence because of Jesus Christ’s position
Walk with confidence because of Jesus Christ’s position
1 Colossians 2:6-11
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7 Rooted (to take root) and built up (built like a house) in (resting within) him, and stablished (to confirm, to ratify) in (by) the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding (more than enough) therein with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest any man (someone there) spoil you (leading you off as prey) through philosophy (love of wisdom) and vain deceit (false information), after the tradition of men, after the rudiments (elementary rules) of the world (kosmos), and not after Christ.
9 For in him dwelleth (fixed position) all the fulness of the Godhead (divine) bodily (body).
10 And ye are complete (fully furnished) in him, which (who) is the head of all principality (rulers) and power (authority, liberty and the right to put forth power):
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off (stripping off) the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Spiritual circumcision of the heart
Romans 2:28-29
28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in (resting within) the spirit (new spiritual nature), and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off (stripping off) the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried (a corpse, religious purification) with him in baptism (washing from sin), wherein (in whom) also ye are risen with (wake up, rouse in conjunction with) him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
13 And you, being (at that time) dead (the state of death) in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with (in conjunction with or proximity to) him, having (graciously) forgiven you all trespasses (our sins);
1 Corinthians 1:4-5
4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
5 That in every thing ye are enriched (made rich) by him, in all utterance (spoken word), and in all knowledge;
6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed (established) in you:
