We are released from bondage through belief – Romans 3:20-25
Romans 3:20-25
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified (set forth as) in his sight: for by (motion to) the law is the knowledge (epignosis: being acquainted with) of sin.
21 But now the righteousness of God without (apart from) the law is manifested (made openly know), being witnessed by the law and the prophets (an expression of the old testament);
22 Even (And) the righteousness of God which is by (marked by fact or event) faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference (distinction):
23 For all have sinned, and come short (a sense of failing or lacking) of the glory of God;
24 Being justified (set forth as rightough) freely (as a free gift) by (resting within) his grace through the redemption (deliverance of the soul from sin, the body from the grace) that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation (the covering of sin by means of sacrifice; the place) through faith in his blood, to (for) declare (a declaration of) his righteousness for the remission (suspension of punishment) of sins that are past (previously committed), through (resting within) the forbearance (self restraint, delay) of God;
