10-7-sin-entered-into-the-world-by-one-man-by-one-man-righteousness-01

Your sins are forgiven you: Sin entered into the world by one man and by one man righteousness

Sin entered into the world by one man and by one man righteousness

Romans 5:11-21

11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through (dia: the dividing line) our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement (restoration to favor).

12 Wherefore (on account of this), as (just as) by one man (genes homo: a human as distinct from an animal) sin entered into the world (kosmos: the arrangement), and death by sin (death by means of sin); and so death passed (passed through) upon (unto) all men, for that (because) all have sinned:

13 (For until (continued) the law sin was in the world (kosmos: the arrangement): but sin is not imputed (charged) when there is no law.

14 Nevertheless (but) death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude (likeness) of Adam’s transgression (breaking the law), who is the figure (a pattern) of him that was to come (the coming one).

15 But not as the offence (sin, a falling aside), so also is the free gift. For if through the offence (sin, a falling aside) of (the) one (the) many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by (the) one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto (the) many.

16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation (the sentence pronounced against), but the free gift is of many offences unto justification (a righteous acquittal).

17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by (through the) one; much more they which receive (the) abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation (the sentence pronounced against); even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification (set forth as righteous) of life.

19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made (constituted, established, set up) sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made (constituted, established, set up) righteous.

20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Sin entered into the world by one man and by one man righteousness
