Show up to work, don’t be tardy or slow

Romans 12:1-12

12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service (obedience rendered to God).

² And be not conformed (shaped, fashioned) to this world (age): but be ye transformed (alter your bearing) by the renewing (renovation) of your the mind, that ye may prove (to your proving) what is that the good, and acceptable, and perfect, will (desired will) of God.

³ For I say, through (the dividing through) the grace (undeserved favor) given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think (thinking overwhelmingly) of himself more highly than (in comparison with what) he ought to think; but to think soberly (unto the being of sound mind), according as God hath dealt (hath imparted) to every (each) man (one) the measure (standard) of faith (the faith).

⁴ For as we have many members (the members) in (resting within) one body, and all members (the members) have not the same office:

⁵ So we, being many, are one body in (resting within) Christ (the messiah), and every one (severally) members one of another.

⁶ Having then (But having) gifts (by grace) differing (diverse, varying) according (along with which) to the grace (undeserved favor) that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith (the faith);

⁷ Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

⁸ Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation (encourage after someone lost something): he that giveth (imparts, shares, communicate), let him do it with simplicity (plainness); he that ruleth (presides over), with diligence (haste, earnestness); he that sheweth mercy (active compassion), with cheerfulness (joyful, gay).

⁹ Let love be without dissimulation (without hypocrisy). Abhor that which is (the) evil; cleave to that which is (the) good.

¹⁰ Be kindly affectioned one (like a family) to another with brotherly love (love of the brethern); in honour preferring one another;

¹¹ Not slothful (slow, tardy) in business (serious business); fervent (boiling hot) in spirit; serving the Lord;

¹² Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant (steadfastly with reverence) in prayer;
