Proverbs 16:1-7
16 The preparations (arrangements, plans) of the heart in man, and the answer (decree) of the tongue, is from the Lord.
To man, the plans of his heart; but from Jehovah the final decree (the last word)
2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth (moral and spiritual weights) the spirits.
3 Commit thy works (an action) unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.
4 The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination (morally disgusting) to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
6 By mercy (grace and lovingkindness) and truth iniquity (perverseness) is purged: and by the fear (reverential) of the Lord men depart from evil.
7 When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
1 Corinthians 1:4-7
4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
5 That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;
6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
