Make God the priority – Colossians 3:1-5, Colossians 3:10-14, Matthew 6:30-34
Colossians 3:1-5
3 If ye then be risen (were raised with) with Christ, seek (endeavor to find) those things which are above (high calling), where Christ (the messiah) sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set (mind) your affection on things above, not on things on the earth (land as distinct from water).
3 For ye are dead (died), and your life is (has been) hid (laid up in store) with (in conjunction with) Christ in (resting within) God.
4 When Christ (the messiah), who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear (be manifested make visible) with him in glory.
5 Mortify (put to death) therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection (lust or passion), evil concupiscence (desire), and covetousness (wantonness), which is idolatry:

12 Put on (like a tee shirt) therefore, as the elect (chosen) of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies (subjective compassion), kindness (sweetness of disposition input of ingratitude), humbleness (modesty) of mind, meekness (enduring all things with an even temper), longsuffering;
13 Forbearing (to hold up) one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel (complaint, occasion to blame) against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14 And above all these things put on charity (love), which is the bond (that which binds together, a bundle) of perfectness (completeness that which has reached its full and intended end).
Matthew 6:30-34
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
